MUMBAI: Actor Aamir Khan drew attention with his new salt-and-pepper appearance at the Celebrate Cinema Festival 2026 in Mumbai, where he spoke about his decision to stop dyeing his hair.

The 61-year-old actor appeared at the festival in a floral-print shirt, black trousers and clear-frame glasses. His natural hair colour became a talking point during a panel discussion with filmmaker Subhash Ghai.

Aamir clarified that the change was not connected to a particular film role. He said he had simply become tired of regularly colouring his hair and decided to stop.

The new look has sparked curiosity among fans, particularly because Aamir is known for making significant physical changes for some of his film roles. However, the actor made it clear that this particular transformation was a personal choice rather than preparation for a character.

His appearance at the festival also brought attention to his long association with the Hindi film industry and his willingness to experiment with his public image.

The Celebrate Cinema Festival brought together members of the film fraternity for discussions and interactions around Indian cinema. Aamir’s conversation with Ghai also touched on his experiences in the industry.

The actor has often attracted attention for his appearance and preparation for films, with changes in hairstyle, physique and overall look becoming part of the public conversation around his work.

This time, however, the salt-and-pepper style appears to be less about a film transformation and more about embracing a natural appearance.

His relaxed appearance and candid comments at the Mumbai event quickly became a talking point among entertainment audiences.
