Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash Attend ‘Ramayana’ World Premiere in Los Angeles
The lead cast of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend attended the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday, bringing international attention to one of the year’s most anticipated Indian film releases.
Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash walked the red carpet at the David Geffen Theatre at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra also attended the invitation-only screening, which offered guests an early look at the mythological epic.
Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi portrays Sita, and Yash takes on the role of Ravana. Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman.
The premiere featured appearances by the principal cast and other guests from the entertainment industry. The actors greeted fans and posed for photographs ahead of the screening.
Directed by Tiwari, the film is planned as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Ramayana. Its scale, visual effects and international production partnerships have drawn attention as the team prepares to bring the epic to audiences across several markets.
The first part is scheduled for worldwide release on November 5, 2026. The second instalment is planned for Diwali 2027. The film is expected to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam in India, with an international distribution arrangement for overseas markets.
The production brings together Indian performers and international technical teams, including visual-effects specialists at DNEG. Music for the project is being composed by Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman.
The Los Angeles premiere marks a major promotional milestone before the film’s theatrical release. An early screening can help introduce a project to international audiences, although its wider reception will become clearer after reviews and public screenings.
Audience response, reviews and theatrical collections over the opening weekend will provide a better indication of the film’s performance. For now, the premiere has placed the cast and the ambitious adaptation in the international entertainment spotlight.
