Friday OTT Releases Bring ‘Akka’, ‘Sigma’ and ‘Immortal’ to Streaming Platforms

Several new films and series have arrived on streaming platforms on Friday, October 30, giving viewers a fresh selection across crime, drama, horror and family entertainment.

Among the prominent releases is Akka, a crime drama series featuring Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte. The series is available on Netflix and has attracted attention for bringing the two actors together in a story centred on crime and power.

Another notable release is Sigma, the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay. The Tamil film is also available on Netflix, with additional language versions listed for viewers. The release marks a new step in Sanjay’s career as a filmmaker.

Netflix has also added Meethe Mein Kya Hai, a Hindi family drama, to its Friday lineup. The film offers a different viewing option for audiences looking for a lighter, family-oriented story.

On SonyLIV, Immortal, a Tamil romantic horror film starring G. V. Prakash Kumar and Kayadu Lohar, has made its streaming debut. The film is available in multiple languages, including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The Friday releases also include Avaraachan & Sons, a Malayalam film available on Netflix, and Love Always, a Tamil series streaming on JioHotstar. Telugu crime series Rudravanam PS is among the titles arriving on ZEE5.

The range of releases reflects the growing importance of regional-language content in India’s streaming market. Platforms are continuing to offer films and series across languages, allowing audiences to access stories beyond their immediate regional markets.

OTT release days have also become an important part of the entertainment calendar, with new titles competing for viewers’ attention alongside theatrical releases.

The latest additions provide options for audiences interested in crime dramas, regional cinema, horror and family entertainment. Viewer response over the weekend will offer an early indication of which titles attract the most interest.
