Wockhardt Hospital Unveils Cricket Championship Trophy Played Between 24 Associations

To encourage people to adhere to a healthy lifestyle, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central has come up with a novel idea. The hospital in association with samajs 7 Associations has organized a Cricket tournament. The trophy was unveiled by Dr. Parag Rindani AVP Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central. Each team will consist of 11 players above the age group of 35. matches of the championship will commence on 23 rd February at NSCI, Worli, Mumbai.

Today, the majority of the population leads a sedentary lifestyle that involves little or no physical activity. It can contribute to many health problems. Wockhardt Hospital has come up with a novel idea so members from the association will De-stress and take a break from their hectic schedules. The championship will allow people to enhance their physical fitness and develop a sportsman spirit.

Dr. Parag Rindani, Head of Hospital, Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai Central, said, “Nowadays, modern advances have made our lives easier, but this, in turn, has also led people to adopt a sedentary lifestyle. Staying physically inactive, faulty eating habits, stress, too much screen time and improper sleep pattern can invite a plethora of health conditions such as obesity, heart disease, insomnia, diabetes, which can result in early death. Keeping all these factors can be dangerous and hamper one’s quality of life. Here, this activity by the hospital can be a stress-buster for many people. We aim to inculcate good habits such as swearing by fitness and a healthy diet regime. Not only this, the hospital is committed to working relentlessly for the betterment of people, and undertake various initiatives for the benefit of the people.”

One of the 24 teams is Mumbai cha Raja affiliated to Lalbaug Sarvajanik Utsav Mandal who has thanked the hospital. “We laud this move taken by the hospital. This will immensely help not only us but all the players who are participating to stay active and fit. This will also encourage healthy competition, and help us play in the spirit of the game. We are looking forward to this championship and wish to win the trophy by displaying our cricketing skills. Also, we pledge to stay hale and hearty, and kick-off the sedentary lifestyle,” said a member of LALBAUG SARVAJANIK UTSAV MANDAL
