More than 30 wife of auto drivers were screened for PAP smear test
Mumbai: On occasion of International Women’s Day; Zen Multi specialty Hospital conducted an awareness session about breast cancer and cervical cancer for more than 30 autos drivers’ wives along with free PAP smear test and routine check-up at Hospital, Chembur. A team of Doctors including Gynaecologist Dr Veena Aurangabadwala & Oncologist Dr Tanveer Majheed, briefed about importance of early diagnosis and awareness about Cervical Cancer and Breast cancer.
Zen Multi Specialty has been contributing towards the health of government officials through various CSR initiatives and free check-up camp. Auto driver families were overwhelmed by gesture. Earlier, Hospital had organized similar health awareness camps at with traffic police, teachers and many more, where pap smear, blood sugar, blood pressure, spirometry and other preliminary tests were conducted for propagating healthy living among the people.
Dr Tanveer Majheed, Oncologist, Zen Multi Specialty Hospital, Chembur, says, “Due to other priorities and limitations auto driver wife often don’t do health check-ups. Our purpose of doing such event is to increase awareness about importance of early pick up of these diseases. Now more than ever, women should be concerned about early detection of breast and cervical cancers, as it is the most common among women all over the world. Thus, regular screening will help in early diagnosis and treatment with better outcome.”
