Aster DM Healthcare to offer free 10,000 MRIs and CT Scans to needy patients over the next 1 year
It gives us great pleasure to share that on occasion of Aster DM Healthcare’s 34th Foundation Day, Dr. Azad Moopen- Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare has announced an Aster Volunteers initiative to provide 10,000 free MRIs and CT Scans to patients who really need the high-end investigations but cannot afford them.
The initiative called AsterFreeIN tackles a big challenge faced by many patients, underprivileged or under financial constraints, in accessing much-needed medical investigations which would help them seek proper diagnosis and accurate treatment but are deterred by high costs. This often leads to patients avoiding seeking the needed medical attention or late-stage diagnosis when the disease would have progressed to serious complications.
Revealing the details further, Sri KT Devanand, CEO, Aster Prime Hospitals, Ameerpet, Hyderabad has said that hospitals under Aster DM Health Care in India and GCC have come forward to offer the medical investigations free of cost to needy patients who are referred by doctors (internal and external), NGOs, support groups, government hospitals and medical colleges. He announced that the offer will also be available in Aster Prime Hospital, Ameerpet in Hyderabad. While explaining the procedure to avail the facility, Sri KT Devanand has informed that a patient needs to submit a referral letter from any of the above along with other documents as listed on AsterFreeIN website.
Dr.Satish Reddy, Managing Director, Aster Prime Hospitals, Ameerpet, Hyderabad appealed to doctors (internal and external), NGOs, support groups, government hospitals and medical colleges to support the initiative by referring patients who are in need by proper and careful scrutiny of their eligibility for availing this support. The patient has to approach the Aster Prime Hospital with a letter issued by concerned doctor/organizations that will help the patient avail a free MRI or CT scan, along with supporting documents, he added. As per as the initial plan at Aster Prime Hospitals, Ameerpet, it was decided to do a minimum of 120 scans per month 1440 scans in complete year, he said. He also informed that the patients who want to avail this facility has to bring in doctor’s prescription for scan test and also necessary income proof documents.
