Antilia Ganesh Chaturthi celebration blends traditional Indian fashion with celebrity glamour
MUMBAI: The annual Ganesh Chaturthi celebration at Antilia brought together Bollywood stars and members of the Ambani family, with traditional Indian fashion emerging as one of the highlights of the festive gathering.
The celebration saw celebrities choosing a mix of sarees, Anarkalis, kurtas and other traditional outfits, combining classic Indian craftsmanship with contemporary styling.
Nita Ambani appeared in an elegant traditional ensemble, while Radhika Ambani added a modern touch to the celebrations with her festive look. Radhika also performed Bharatanatyam as part of the occasion, bringing classical Indian dance into the festivities.
Several Bollywood couples and families also attended the celebration. Kareena Kapoor Khan opted for a yellow Anarkali, while Saif Ali Khan complemented the occasion in a traditional kurta and dhoti.
Karisma Kapoor chose a colourful silk saree, while Katrina Kaif wore an olive-green Anarkali featuring traditional embroidery. Vicky Kaushal appeared alongside her in an ivory chikankari kurta.
Other guests included Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday and Rekha, with each bringing a distinct interpretation of festive Indian dressing.
The variety of outfits highlighted the continuing popularity of traditional textiles and silhouettes during major Indian festivals. Sarees, silk fabrics, chikankari, Patola and other heritage-inspired styles were combined with contemporary jewellery and styling.
The event also reflected how celebrity festive dressing has become an important source of fashion inspiration, particularly during occasions such as Ganesh Chaturthi.
While designers and celebrities increasingly experiment with modern cuts and styling, traditional Indian clothing continues to remain central to festive fashion.
The Antilia celebration offered another example of this blend, with classic Indian attire appearing alongside modern interpretations and making heritage fashion a prominent part of the evening.
