19th Foundation Day is celebrated with much fanfare
Basavatarkam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research has cleberated its 19th Foundation with much fanfare. A special foundation day program is being arranged on this ocassion as culmination of month long activities held at hospital.
The program that begun with prayer song was followed by singing and dancing being performed by nursing students. Further on the occassion, dignitories has falicitated brave cancer survivors, who sucessfully fought against the dreaded disease. Later they have also falicitated employees of the hospital who has completed ten years of service in the organisaiton.
Earlier welcoming the guests on the dias Dr RV Prabhakar Rao, CEO, BIACH&RI has presented annual report of the hospital. While explaining the journey of the organisation Dr Rao said that the growth was possible due to selfless service, expert doctos and world class equipment that is available in the hosptal. He also revealed that the efforts put forward to became world class facility has won several awards and laurals from various stake holders. Dr Prabhakar Rao also listed various new facilities introduced by the hospital to provide treatment with latest technology.
Later speaking on the occassion, Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Trust Board Member, BIACH&RI has revealed a journey of 31 years by the hospital out of which 12 years of construction and 19 years of its existence. While remembering those who generously donated for the development of hospital especially Mr. Venkateswarlu of Kakatiya Cements, Members of NRI community under the banner of Indo American Cancer Organisation lead by Dr Tulasi D Polavarapu, Dr Nori Dattatreyudu etc., He advised the management that the running of hospital must be seen from service aspect rather than financial. He wanted to strengthen the Trust posed by patients on the hospital further thus giving them a confidence.
Speaking at the end of the program, Sir Balakrishna has expressed satisfaction in the way the organisation has grown into 500 bedded facility from mere 50 beded hospital at its inaguration. While appreciating the tireless efforts of doctors and staff members in getting recognition as world class facility to BIACH&RI, Sri Balakrishna has urged them to continue the good work in future also. This would enable us to fulfill the aspiration of late sri NTR, who wanted a world class cancer care facility that can treat poor and provide solace to those fighting cancer, he said. He assured all possible help to hospital staff to achieve the same. “I am feeling privilaged to work for the hospital despite having won the elections, busy cine schedule” he said. Highlighting the problems faced by children fighting with cancer, He advised hospital management to conduct Birthday and other festivals in pediatric ward thus enabling the children undergoing treatment to enjoy the same.
Along with Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna the program was attended by Dr RV Prabhakar Rao, CEO, BIACH&RI; Sri G Ravi Kumar, COO, BIACH&RI; Dr TS Rao, Medical Director, BIACH&RI; Dr Kalpana Raghunath, Associate Director-Academics, BIACH&RI; Dr Koteswara Rao, MS, BIACH&RI and doctors, staff members, patients and their family members.
